When did this happen?

in 2021, "House bill 324: Ensuring Dignity & Nondiscrimination/Schools" looked to restrict k-12 teachers' ability to talk about diversity and gender.

This bill passed both the house (61-41) and the senate (25-17) but was vetoed by governor Roy cooper

​

good vibes!

the only problem now is, the republicans now have enough votes to override the governor's veto

 

bad vibes.

​

And on February 29th, 2023, house bill 187 was introduced to do the exact same thing, and it already passed the house (68-49)

 

Terrible vibes.

...side note, they overrode the governor's veto on gun legislation on Wed, march 29th... but one problem at a time I guess...
