When did this happen?

in 2021, "House bill 324: Ensuring Dignity & Nondiscrimination/Schools" looked to restrict k-12 teachers' ability to talk about diversity and gender.

This bill passed both the house (61-41) and the senate (25-17) but was vetoed by governor Roy cooper

good vibes!

the only problem now is, the republicans now have enough votes to override the governor's veto

bad vibes.

And on February 29th, 2023, house bill 187 was introduced to do the exact same thing, and it already passed the house (68-49)

Terrible vibes.

...side note, they overrode the governor's veto on gun legislation on Wed, march 29th... but one problem at a time I guess...
